Auto Advantage Fraudulent practices, escalating charges, unskilled, lies Brentwood Tennessee!!

This has to be the worst auto shop I have ever encountered. Their repair practices are fraudulent. They lie to their customers, they are apparently unskilled auto mechanics because they have no apparent ability to diagnose a problem. They simply throw parts at it and charge the customer a lot of unnecessary money. My mothers car was taken there because they were the only shop open on the 4th of July. They told her it was the fuel pump. A new fuel pump was installed, which did not solve the problem. Next they put on a new fuel filter, which again did not solve the problem. They told her she had gotten some bad gas, so they drained and cleaned the tank, still the problem was not solved. So they put on new spark plugs, because they said that the bad gas had filed them down. Still the car would not start. They totally drained and cleaned her tank, but again the problem was not solved. Then they cleaned underneath her car because it had oil accumulated underneath (this happens normally on an older car. My mothers car was a 95) because they told her it could catch fire. The next thing they were going to do was change the fuel injectors! They said the bad gas she had gotten had stopped up all 6 injectors. The car still was not running. It was at this point that I became involved. My husband and I have worked at Nissan for 25 years and we know a little bit about cars. We also know many very accomplished repairmen. We know for certain that bad gas cannot file down 6 spark plugs, accumulated oil cannot cause a fire, and there is no way on God’s green earth that 6 fuel injectors can become clogged at one time. We told them to stop working on the car immediately. We had the car towed to another shop, and their diagnostics said the problem was the car’s computer. From there it was towed to the dealership. We spent $621 at Auto Advantage. When we picked it up the car still would not start! They totally failed to diagnose the problem and were only thrown parts at it and charging my mother a great deal of money. We are pursuing charges against them for violating the law. There is no way to talk to the owner–he will not call you back. If you go there you will be told he is not there. They have an unsatisfactory rating with the Better Business Bureau. We have filed a complaint, but they don’t even bother to answer the BBB when a customer complains. We may also involve the local news media. Many people are being ripped off and what they are doing is illegal. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS SHOP!!!! Teresa Murfreesboro, TennesseeU.S.A.
